BSidesSLC 2018 is excited to announce its Call for Proposals. At BSidesSLC, we are dedicated to assisting students and those that are new to our industry get their start by providing opportunities to network and learn with more seasoned professionals. As such, proposals from current students and first time speakers are highly encouraged. Each submission by someone in either category will be given the option to be placed with a mentor to prepare for their presentation. That said, we still absolutely welcome submissions from individuals or groups who do not fit either category.
Each accepted speaker will be given a 25 or 50 minute time slot at the discretion of the review committee. Each submission is required to provide the following things:
The time slot assigned will be determined by the abstract and outline. Please note, to provide a variety of content, the number of 50 minute presentations will be limited and you may be asked to be flexible and shorten the length of your presentation.
Call for Mentors
BSidesSLC is launching a mentorship program to allow first time speakers and students to learn from the experience of others and advance their knowledge and speaking skills. If you are a veteran security professional looking to help out, please fill out the form linked below to let us know. We expect all mentors to talk and meet with their mentee regularly in the months leading up the the conference in order to provide input and feedback on things such as topic, content, delivery, etc.
